Invoice Realization with Reason Codes

The Invoice Realization with Reason Codes report allows you to track realization by invoice. This report can be used to explain why amounts have been written up or down in billing.

Permissions Required for this Report

In the staff profile, staff must be assigned to a security group that is granted View functional rights for the following:

  • Security group profile > Functional rights > Reports > Shared Library > Shared Views
  • Security group profile > Functional rights > Reports > Firm Library > Custom
  • Security group profile > Functional rights > Reports > Firm Library > Standard > Firm
  • Security group profile > Functional rights > Reports > Firm Library > Standard > Practice
  • Security group profile > Functional rights > Reports > Firm Library > <report name>
  • Security group profile > Functional rights > Administration Manager > Client Manager > Approved Clients

Reports in Foundation that are Comparable

In Practice Management and Practice Advantage, there are no comparable reports. This is a new standard report.

Report Specifications

The following report options and filters are available to determine the report contents.

Hide Details

Yes/No

Includes or excludes the details for each transaction. If excluded, only the headers and footers for each group with amounts only for the grand total display in the report. To view a summary amount for each group, select to subtotal the group.

Hide Comma

Yes/No

Includes or excludes commas in numbers.

Hide Penny

Yes/No

Includes or excludes pennies in amounts.

Show Write Up/Down Totals for Reason Codes

Yes/No

Includes or excludes the total write up/down amount for the reason codes and a grand total for each column.

Notes:

  • The Manager and Primary Partner field names are the default values defined for client responsible staff. The first ten client responsible staff List values that are defined for your firm are available field options.
  • The Client ID.Sub ID and Invoice # fields are grouped by default and cannot be removed or repositioned in the list. You can add additional grouping fields that will be added above the Client ID.Sub ID and Invoice # fields.

There are no sorting options for this report.

Report Fields

The following fields are available for this report. The fields that display and the position of fields are based on the report's settings, grouping, sorting, and filters.

Client ID

The client ID and sub ID in Client ID.Sub ID format.

Client Name

The client name.

Invoice #

The invoice number.

Invoice Date

The invoice date.

Hours

The total number of hours on the invoice for each reason code.

WIP Amount

The total WIP amount on the invoice for each reason code.

Write Up Write Down

The write up/down amount for the invoice/reason code.

Net Invoice

The WIP that is billed on the invoice, including the surcharge, expenses, write up/down, progress billed, progress applied, sales tax billed, and progress sales tax applied. This number should match the amount on the invoice.

Progress

The total progress billed on the invoice for each reason code.

Applied

The total progress applied on the invoice for each reason code.

Sales Tax

The total sales tax on the invoice for each reason code.

Real %

The realization for the invoice. The calculation is billed WIP + write up/down divided by billed WIP.

Reason Code

The reason code that is associated with the invoice write up/down.
